Chaos

I was gonna deceive my friend and skip writing today, but I guess I’m gonna deceive myself. (That sounded funnier in my head, I swear)

I avoid writing. I have quite a lot of spare time, so me saying that my schedule is packed, would be a total lie. Honestly, I avoid anything that requires too much effort from me. I just sit and listen to true crime podcasts. For two main reasons- my undying fascination for true crime and to hear somebody else’s voice. Also it distracts me from the heap of assignments.

Occasionally I just explore places………………………………………………on Google Earth. You really think I’ll actually take the efforts to go somewhere? Ha, never! Nonetheless, even Google Earth is interesting. I really wanna know what is on the Surtsey Island. It has only ever been open to scientists. I’d like to imagine a world where I live on the island, only me and the people I love.

Also, I watch a lot of Danny Gonzalez and Drew Gooden and Kurtis Connor videos. Their humor is just 🙌. You might know Drew from the ‘road work ahead’ vine. That was epic.

WandaVision= GENIUS! I won’t spoil it or anything, but if you are an mcu fan, you have got to watch it. It might confuse you at first, but then the pieces will just fall into place.

Let me enlighten you about The Butterfly Effect-

In 1953, American author Ray Bradbury published a story called ‘The Sound Of Thunder’. In the story, a man named Eckels travels with Time Safari- a time machine company that offers wealthy adventurers the chance to travel back in time to hunt extinct species such as dinosaurs with Travis, the hunting guide. The company does not guarantee the safety or the return of the adventurer, but it gives strict instructions- the hunters are obliged to stay on a levitating path to avoid disrupting the environment. Eckels is extremely excited to hunt the t-rex, but when the dinosaur approaches, he loses his nerve and runs back to the time machine. As he runs back, a small amount of dust gets stuck on his shoes. Nobody thinks much of it and they return. Once they are back, they start realizing the the scientists seemed a bit weird. The writing on the boards was different and all the signs were different. Looking at the mud on his boots, he notices a butterfly in the dirt- pretty, but dead- whose death has apparently caused a rift in the timeline that has affected the nature of the alternative present to which the safari has returned. He frantically pleads with Travis to take him back into the past to undo the damage, but Travis had previously explained that the time machine cannot return to any point in time that it has already visited (so as to prevent any paradoxes). Travis raises his gun, and suddenly, all he hears is ‘the sound of thunder’.

The things that change the world, are the tiny things- A butterfly flapped its wings in the amazon and subsequently a storm rises in Europe. Paraphase it a little bit, it is a quote, “Sensitive dependence on initial conditions”, more commonly known as the butterfly effect is the idea that the small change in any situation could have huge implications later on down the road. Its the chaos theory. See, chaos theory isn’t exactly about chaos, it is about how a tiny change can affect everything !

Now the reason I am writing this is because-

1] I find this theory very very interesting.

2] It works with humans too. The tiniest of your actions may affect someone deeply. So please, please think before you talk. Maybe you will save them from that trigger. Let’s just TPWK. :)

So my friend asked me if I had a playlist on Spotify for her to listen to. I did. I had made that one just 6 months back, but my taste in music has changed drastically since then. Earlier, my playlist had a variety of artists. Now its mainly just……One Direction and its members. I have observed that I have gotten in the One Direction zone way too deep. I don’t even regret it. Actually, if I’m being honest, I’m proud about it.

This is the playlist I made in September- https://open.spotify.com/playlist/38sDbzfgZC2p5Nu4xsnM1X

This is the one I made yesterday- https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3bBMRXzDLE2fd0AMU63Fst

Now that reminds me of The Song of The Day…………………..drum roll please……………………………Tightrope-Zayn.

That’s all for today.

Thank you.
